Abstract
Through this essay a Foucauldian understanding of the state and state power dismantles conceptions of extremism and creates a new identifier known as “oppositional ideologies.” This new identifier is then applied in the context on René Gerard’s theory of sacrifice and the function of sacrifice is explored through a cross-cultural analysis of wahhabism/salafisism and white nationalism.
