Abstract
This blog follows Shannon Hardy's discoveries, challenges, and growth throughout the rehearsal and performance process of Nickel and Dimed. Playing the role of Barbara Ehrenreich who tells her true story through this play, Hardy considers the importance of the production as the first back in Klein Theatre from COVID-19, including the challenges that came along with that fact. Nickel and Dimed follows low-wage workers and the challenges they face, and Hardy explains what she has learned about our world through the research and character preparation process of this play. Get a look into the mind of an actor as she gains confidence and friendship while completing her senior project, reflecting on her past at UMW Theatre, as well as her future.
